Default 2 second Delay going into D - before i can give gas to move forward

New problem since i had a bit of work done on my transmission -and mainly GOT 2 new FILTERS and new fluid ATF4 and parts cleaner.

NOW when I start the truck up ,and Put in D , i give it gas and it just rev's as if its in NEUTRAL.,
so now i have to wait 2 seconds before i can give it gas and start moving
it was never like it before.

not just when i start it up even if i am going from R- then back to D- it still has the delay no matter what..

As well now when im driving and its going from say 40-50 km and switching gears its as if it slips then catches..
all new symptoms..
and its not as PEPPY as it used to be..

i used to love this truck so much and im starting to hate it now, with my steering issues and this new tranny problem..

anyone have any ideas??

when i got it out of the shop they suggested bringing it to a dealer or a a transmission shop and get a TRANSMISSION RELEARN . . . .
how does this sound to you all vets?
Reading online im seeing it could be these things "faulty valve body, a faulty solenoid, or the clutch pack itself. "
anyone have any input?
thanks alot

i found this link
https://dodgeforum.com/forum/1st-gen...agnostics.html

SEEMS VERY USEFULL if i was mechaniccaly inclined.
alot of the solutions involve removing the transmission to get at certain things.

You already have a thread started with your transmission issues. Why did you start another?

You don't need to be overly inclined mechanically to realize that something is wrong with the transmission, and you did say that the tranny "smoked". My response to that statement was that you had burned something, but it obviously didn't cause complete transmission failure - the fluid flush and filter change made it almost work, to my surprise. If you look at that link, in the section that lists reasons for a hesitating transmission, you see a number of things such as I mentioned that could be wrong mechanically - bands, solenoid, pump, etc. All of these can be destroyed or damaged by heat. My personal opinion is that you won't be able to repair this lag without taking the transmission apart or swapping it for one that works. At the moment, it does sort of get you around, but I wouldn't plan any lengthy trips.

Since the garage undertook to repair your problems with a simple flush & filter change, I guess you could take the truck back to them and tell them that they didn't fully fix it. Even though they did take on the repair liability, I don't think you'll get too far with them. You could try to take them to Judge Judy

I took my old Ram to the dealer for a trans service years ago. The superior dealer tech did not realize trans fluid level was to be checked in neutral. He put it on the money in park which was actually a few quarts low and caused me a few seconds engagement delay every time I put it in gear.......

anyway, check your fluid level.
