I'm guessing about $440 of that was that touch screen radio.

It looks almost the same as mine, but still a bit different.

I wanted to keep a clean look, so I didn't even look after market for awhile, finally caved in when I saw one that fit like a stock radio, but had touch screen and a bunch of other stuff...it's def better than stock, but seriously lacking for what I paid. I'm kinda content at the moment, but as soon as I got a little extra cash, its going bye bye and I'm thinking of a decent after market and syncing it with an iPad mini...

I just put in a double din. The bottom of the bezel had to be cut and some custom work inside, and then got the same dash kit as 70x did and just used the parts to fill the old **** holes. Also, if you go to sundaybuy.com they make a deck that perfectly fits our truck, looks good! dvd, back up camera, gps, blutooth, everything.

Lol! ya, saw your pics after I posted that comment. Came very close to getting it after I found out it wasn't going to be easy installing the double din. After getting everything installed, blutooth, camera, gps etc. probably spent double of what you did. And had to cut the dash. Oh well, yours looks good. Everything still working fine?

For the most part yes... BUT I do have a few complaints (minor overall, but still annoying): 20% of the time when I shift to reverse I get a blue screen (signal connectivity issue i'm sure), iPod function is not user friendly (which is why I keep it mounted next to radio, easier to control directly than through the radio), speaker phone microphone is crap, and biggest of all is the volume ****...when you try to turn volume up/down it will go back and forth on it's own til it eventually gets to the setting you want. Overall it works ok, but not what I was hoping for.

Default How to do wiring

On the OEM stereo for the Dakota, there is a slot for the Special connector, but then next to it, there's a smaller connector. The aftermarket radio you used doesn't have that second slot. So my question is, what did you do with that wiring since there was no slot on the aftermarket radio? Also, do you know what the function the smaller connector does?
