I had a 2.5 mandral bent dual setup done with glass packs and an H pipe about 7 years ago, the duals running side by side , recently the tail pipes rusted out and i had to have a quick fix done as in right now as i had to leave on a trip the next morning, all the guy had in stock was a Magnaflow dual in dual out, it lined up great to my existing pipes from the cats, (edit: so he installed the muffler and made new tail pipes) so i went on my trip and found the drone to be pretty bad, worse than my glass packs, so i went back and asked what we could do about getting rid of the drone, then i came up with the idea of adding a second dual in dual out muffler, so he ordered another and i had it installed about 5 days later, the drone is almost non existent and it is quieter, still sounds nice on the outside and i carry on conversations without being annoyed.

I think the added back pressure was minimal and think i even gained about .5 mpg in the process.
I never thought of trying that, you guys basically added a reaonator. That's all our resonators are, straight through cheese grater type just like the magnaflow.
