I just purchased a 2008 Dakota Laramie. When I go to set up the phone it states UConnect not equipped, or similar. What does this mean and can I get UConnect somehow? I want to use my phone.

 

Welcome to DF! Sounds like your truck is not equipped with the U connect option. My 09 Journey says the same thing. Radio has all the buttons, but the rest of the uconnect "package" is not installed as that is an option. To get your factory radio to use the uconnect features is probably a dealer only deal. Your best bet is to install an aftermarket head unit that has bluetooth. They can be had relatively cheap when compared to how much it will cost to have the dealer install all the necessary components to make the uconnect work.

 

Request a build sheet from Dodge, see if you Dakota is equipped with Uconnect or not. You'll get a response very quickly.
