Alright folks, here it goes:
I've got an '07 Dakota SLT 4x4 with a 4.7. No mods yet, but I want big mud tires and a lift, and possibly an exhaust that does my baby justice. Problem is we've got moderate knowledge for modifications. Is a 3" body lift doable for amateurs? I looked at my exhaust and figure I'll probably have to cut-and-clamp thrush tubes on. Anyone have any advice for a resourceful Eagle Scout?

Body lift is ok on a 4x4. Couple on here have them and iirc, it was like a weekend job with a couple buddies and a few cases of beer. Suspension lift you are limited to coil spring spacers on the front. Add a leaf or blocks for trhe rear. Don't go over 2.5" coill spacer or you will destroy cv boots and axles. Those 33's will put a strain on the front end. Plan on upgrading you struts, tie rod ends, ball joints and sway bar links with quality aftermarket stuff. The front end is a weak point on these trucks. If you are indeed wanting 33's, I would recommend a superchips tuner as well.
