Default 2009 Dakota, DTCs

Hey guys, pulled a couple codes off my dakota today.

It has the 4.7L 4x4 SXT has 42000 kilometers

P0031 - oxygen sensor Bank 1 Sensor 1 Heater Circuit Low
P0032 - oxygen sensor Bank 1 Sensor 1 Heater Circuit High
P0300 - Multiple Cylinder Misfire
P0401 - EGR System Performance
P0500 - Unregistered Code (no description)

Was wondering does the EGR code mean that the valve is finished? not working properly? The light comes on stays on for a few days, then shuts off for a day, then comes on again at some point.

What does the O2 sensor mean? not exactly sure myself.

Anyone know about p0500?

Multiple misfire? is that something i should be worried about?

also one more thing, im looking to put new plugs and wires (or coil over packs?) what would you guys recommend?

How long has the light been on? Is the truck running badly?

a week or so, and no real performance issues yet that I find. The truck seems to bog down sometimes when i try to go up my drive way or at a light. But it did this before the light came on.

This may sound strange, hows your battery? How's the connections? Grounds? Weak batteries/bad grounds cause all kinds of weird issues with these trucks. If those are ok, try this, disconnect the battery for about a 1/2 hour and then drive it and see if the codes come back. Having all those codes at once is rare. If you had a misfire, you would feel it missing, gas mileage would suck, etc.

I am sorry i didnt explain that the egr code was what threw the light. the other codes were stored in the computer i found when i did a full system scan.

Ahh, I see. In that case the EGR is toast. I had the same thing on my Camaro. Code was for EGR fault and would come and go at random. I tried removing and cleaning the EGR valve but that did not work. Ended up replacing the valve and solenoid and the code never came back.

I would start by inspecting the EGR system. Make sure no vacuum leaks to the solenoid. Or remove and inspect it, clean it and make sure it operates smoothly.
