Default Help: City light not working

Hi, I just thought i'd give it a try here first. For some reason on my driver's side headlight (Passenger's side is fine), the city/driving light won't work but the signal works/blinks fine. Is this a minor electrical issue? I don't drive my Dakota much but it still bugs the crap out of me that only 1 city/driving light works.

Where would you suggest I check first? Fuse #, etc?

Thank you in advance!

Please explain what you mean by city/driving light? Never heard that before.

Do you mean the parking lights? If so, replace the parking light/turn signal bulb on the drivers side.

The driving lights on mine are my Headlights (dimmed high beam it looks like)
The Parking/Marker lights are my Signals, Which like hte headlights is a multi filament bulb

I've always known them as "headlights" (high and low beam) and park/turn lights (one bulb, two filaments). Marker lamps are usually a single 194 bulb all b y itself mounted on the fenders meant to be seen from the side of the vehicle (yellow in front, red in rear, back in the old days of sealed beam headlamps). I realize nowadays, with composite, wrap around housings, the "marker" light is not found much anymore. IIRC, the Dak has one headlight bulb (high and low beam, 9007), and one turn/park/marker bulb (dual filament).

The "driving" lights are the "fog" lights, mounted low on the bumper. Reject, the "driving" lights you refer to (dim high beam) are the daytime running lamps (DRL's). Thats a Canadian thing as far as the Dakota is concerned.

Wow, sorry I term it differently then you guys. The "other" car forum I used to be apart of, we called that the city/driving light. WHATEVER, I guess the correct term is "parking" lights. I did mention that it is the same light as the turn signal bulb. So I guess i'll try to just replace the bulb and see if that's the simple fix. Since it is getting power to the turn signal, hopefully the "dual filament" bulb is just burned out for the parking light.

No biggie, just making sure we are all talking about the same thing, regardless of the terminology. Yea, usually one of the filamants will burn out before the other. I'd go ahead and replace both bulbs at the same time. If one burned out, the other will follow soon.

FYI, I was able to lay on the ground and reach up to replace the bulb, no reason to unbolt the headlight to get to it.

I just finally had time to replace the bulbs and it looks like that didn't work... Are there any fuses you suggest I look at or any other advise? Thanks.
