Tune Up Time!!!
Wondering what all I need to tune up on my Truck. Beside the normal stuff, plugs, wires, fuel filter, air filter. I have like 165k on it I believe. Need to say it hasn't been tuned up in a looooonnnnngggg time.
Fuel filter only if the engine is starving for fuel, it will be very noticeable if it is. The coil on plug design has no plug wires so scratch that from the list as well.
Just do the plugs, air filter.. and if your oil/filter are up, do that as well. Then pull the battery cable for a minute or so to reset the adaptives.
With those miles, other than the tune up, I'd inspect the front end parts such as end links, ball joints, tie rods and bearings.. and the other usual things if they haven't been touched for a while like brakes and condition of antifreeze. Transmission fluid, if it's only been changed once then it's about due for another drain and fill +filters.
One other thing, that isn't part of a regular tune up, is cleaning the throttle body. It's easy to do and may smooth out performance if it's pretty gunky in there.
