What's the sensor thing on the bottom of the overflow res? And how do you drain it?
I was trying to see if I can drain the overflow cuz I put new coolant in, and I accidentally broke the sensor at the bottom. Plus how do you drain it?
They're not designed to be drained, unlike a radiator. You might try a siphon hose.
I took a garden hose, and cupped my hand over the opening. This pushed it all out the overflow tube, which was routed to a bucket, until it was fresh water. Then I removed the hose, kept my hand cupped there, and basically just huffed and puffed and blew all the water out into the same bucket. If you are trying to save the antifreeze, this method isn't the best one of course.
Also, the sensor is for the windshield wiper fluid, not the aintifreeze. The pump and sensors are there next to eachother, the smaller tank section is the antifreeze, no way to drain without removing unless you do it the way I did.

After I looked at a diagram, I figured the sensor was for wiper fluid. I had the original coolant in the res. But I did a coolant flush the other day myself, so I wanted to do this too. I forgot to do it, and my coolant in my radiator isnt as yellow anymore. I used zerex g-05 coolant.
Just make sure you don't get the fluids intermixed. Something tells me that Rain-X BugOff wouldn't do well in your cooling passages, and I wouldn't want to spray Prestone all over my windshield and hood...
