Default 2007 Dakota Signals & 4 way flashers not working

Sorry if there is a thread about this already but I haven't had any luck finding it. I own a 2007 Dodge Dakota Quad Cab SLT 4x4.

This morning my truck does not have any signal lights or 4-way flashers.

The same thing happened a couple weeks ago, I had started my truck with my remote starter, and when I went to turn I had no signals. After stopping at a store and restarting everything worked fine.

Today however, no such luck. I pulled over and restarted my vehicle normally and the signals did not return. (I had initially started with my remote start) After I got to work I pulled all the fuses that had anything to do with lights and they were all fine. I also pulled the relay and put it back in. I tried my signals again and they worked for about 30 seconds then nothing. I pulled the fuses and relay again and still nothing.

My brake lights work, my parking lights work, my radio works, no problems with fog or headlights. No other electrical issues that I can find. The flasher wasn't flashing quickly last night, I have no burnt out lights.

Any suggestions?

Question

After pushing the 4 way flasher button 20+ times they "majically" work again. For now...

TO me, sounds like the multi-function switch. Its located behind the plastic panels in between the dash and the steering wheel. It contains the hazards and the entire turn signal switch in one unit. Look it up if you want a picture of what one would look like. TO me, it sounds like its going out. It also controls the wipers. When the lights don't work next time, see if the wipers don't work either since its on the same switch.

could be a problem with the wiring for the automatic starter..how long ago was it installed and when did you first experience the problem with the directionals?

Remote starter has been in for over 2 years. Signal/ 4- way problem started 2 weeks ago. I was reading in some other threads about the contacts in the 4-way flasher getting dirty and possibly cause a problem. So I sprayed some electrical contact cleaner in and around it.

It is still working fine...
