Default New struts and shocks with leveling kit?

Hey Guys! I got my leveling kit for my Dakota. Its an 06 4wd and the leveling kit is 2.5" in front and 1" in back. I thought why its apart and on the lift to put new struts and shocks on it. My question is since this leveling kit will raise the truck a bit, do I need to get a longer shock and strut or will stock length ones still work with them? Thanks

Stock length is fine, go with either Rancho or Monroe. Anything over a 2" leveling kit will beat the hell out of your front end though.

the kit is designed to work with OEM struts as it just makes the strut longer (spaces it off the mount) I had Monroe Struts installed when I did my 1.5" kit. From what everyone has said Monroe is softer then Rancho. So it all depends on what you like.

What kit did you buy? I'm crawling thru the internet looking at every manufacturers different kits trying to decide which one....to many choices . I am leaning towards the e-bay kit by Supreme suspensions which is the 2" front/1" rear.

I got this for the front and I just got on ebay and picked up 1" steel blocks for the back. But I have heard a few things about the Supreme Suspension kits and they sounds pretty dang good. I don't think you could go wrong with that kit from Supreme Suspension.

Much of what you see is very close to the same - even prices are fairly close. In essence, what you're getting as a kit is one set of spacers with a set of nuts for each one. There are some that require you to disassemble the strut to install, and some you can install as a bolt on to the top of the whole strut assembly, so if you need new shocks, it won't matter much which you use, but if you had already changed the shocks not long ago, you might want to get the spacers that go on top of everything. The only difference that there would be between manufacturers would be the material & weld quality - check for reviews on-line, often both the good & bad are written up someplace.
