Default Transmission Question

Ok, dumb question.

According to the Vehicle Summary Report from a local dealer (thanks for the info draftingmonkey), I have a 5-spd transmission.
However, when I look at the dash I see 1, 2, D, and Tow/Haul. Unless I am missing something that is four, not five.

I haven't had an automatic transmission in a vehicle since 1990, are they counting reverse as a gear? I thought a 5-spd meant 5 *forward* gears.

Reverse doesn't count. There are 5 forward gears, but only 3 of them are selectable, that's why you only see three on the selector.

Thanks for the reply.

I guess that helps clarify it a little. So let me get this straight, "D" is actually 3, 4 and 5 (OD)? So if you select Tow/Haul you are turning "off" the ability of the computer to select the OD?

Am I close?

Correct. The tow/haul button is just grabbing a lower gear electronically, presumably 4th.
