Advice/ Progress Thread
Smaller hitch should be here tomorrow. Now, a question about wiring. Is there any specific wire extender that I need? Or is the wiring on the trailer long enough to plug into the connection under the rear bumper?
Pic of under my bumper:
There is NO slack in the connector at all.

Again, it all depends on who installed the trailer wiring and how much slack they left. I like my connection to happen just above the ball, then you know it will pivot there and not stretch.
You can do what I did on my last truck, and will do again in the spring with this one, I got a 7-pin/4-pin combo at my parts supply and installed it in my bumper. Almost looked factory. You can find my thread on here.
Cheers
Nope. No slack what so ever. All of the wiring looks stock and is held by plastic clips attached to the frame. Why I was curious if there were any wire extenders needed. I like my connection at the ball as well, but at it's current state, it's about 6-8 inches short of that.

That's what she said!
Seriously, many auto supply stores sell a 12" extension - Princess Auto has them here, almost for free.

Got my hitch shipped to me and can't install it, as NO ONE around here has a torque wrench that goes to 380 FT LBS. Neighbor's wrench only goes to 200 and I'm stuck with that. So, I can't tow anything until I find a magical 4 leafed torque wrench that goes to 380 or higher.
Picked up an extension for the wiring locally. After many phone calls and stops at local places, I finally found a place that could torque down the main bolt. Had to go to a professional grade diesel dealership to get it done.
Finally got the funds to fix my messed up fascia and get my step bars LineXed.
Now, to work on getting the Hypertech / exhaust issues taken care of.
You can see my messed up fascia earlier in the thread. Did the install of the step bars myself. So far nothing has fallen apart yet.

It would have cost about $1000 to buy a new fascia and have it repainted. It looks a bit better in a good light as well.
