Default Truck pulls left or right or not at all.

Hello again, my truck has always pulled to the right a bit due to an alignment issue. Now for the last couple of days my car will sometimes decide to veer tovtge left and when I brake it pulls harder to the left or right and sometimes it just slows down to a stop going straight like nothings wrong. I will check the front brakes but they aren't even a year old and I'm replacing the back drums and shoes because I hear them grinding as of a few days ago. I just wanted some input on what the veering left and right would be. I have hit some nasty potholes due to the last blizzard and plows creating them.
Thanks for any info!

Something unpredictable and inconsistent like that is usualy worn out steering components and or suspension bushings. Causing the truck to be in a good alignmentone second and pulling the next.

A rear brake problem can cause a pull to one side, though it usually isn't as strong as a front brake pull. In any case, if you hear grinding from the rear brakes, get them checked ASAP!

I figured it would be something like that. That reminds me there is like a half inch of play in the steering wheel before the tires react. Just another thing to add to the many things I have to look at. Thank you.

Yeah I have the drums and shoes at work waiting for the lift to be cleared up. There's a ram with a broken shifter cable that's up there now.

Check your tire pressures too.
