Default need help with cv installation...

So I am rebuilding my front end. I removed the old cv and I tried putting the new one in and it wouldn't clip on. I honestly never saw a clip. Well, so I removed it and looked the the splines on the diff, and there was an oring against the diff seal. I removed that ring and the axle went into place. Now I can kinda move the cv shaft on the splines like a tiny bit. It's not the diff splines that's moving, but It's the cv shaft that I put on the splines that is moving on the splines. It is locked in however. Where was that oring Suppose to go? I don't wanna reassemble everything till I figure out the oring situation.

I figured.out both have same amount of play, so that's fine. It's very minimal. Not sure what to do with the oring.... any ideas?

I had the same thing on mine, never could get the asxle to fully "seat" until I saw that little o-ring. I honestly did not remember at the time if the old CV axle had one on it and I had since gotten rid of it. I removed the o-ring, got the axle to seat and never had any issue because of it.
