Default Shocks

This is what I ended up ordering last night...

Leveling kit - performance accessories from Jeg's

Steelcraft bull bar

Black Rock Series 997 Rims - http://www.summitracing.com/parts/brw-997785545 ;

Matte wheels 4.5 backspace with a 0 offset.

265/70/17 tires from treadwright - i have used them for the last 4 years with no complaints. I still have original tires from them on my Jeep. https://www.treadwright.com/p-64-265...den-a-t-e.aspx

I was going to get the guard dogs but the AT's look great.

I plan on getting some fender flares at some point but I want to get everything on and see how it looks.

My question is, should i grab some new shocks while i have the springs out? Do I need longer for a simple leveling kit or will stock size work? Anyone have any experience with monroe sensatrac?

Welcome to DF. Stock length shocks will work fine. I had the Monroes, I liked them, others run Rancho. Ranchos are a bit firmer. It would help if you would state what truck you are referring to. Please add your vehicle specifics in your signature.

I will do that.

2007 Quad Cab Dakota 4x4

Is there something else I should purchase? Monroe seems a little steep in price.

Also, where is the cheapest place to get bushwacker flares?

Your choices for these trucks are Monroe, Rancho or KYB. Do some internet searching for the best price. I got mine off amazon. I assume you are referring to the front struts so you can expect to pay close to $100 each no matter the brand.

What size is your leveling kit? 4X4 Dakotas do not like anything over 2". It will destroy the front end.

Tons of places sell Bushwacker, again, Google is your friend. Happy shopping!

I went with Ranchos on front and back. To be honest, I couldn't really tell a difference in the ride. I also went ahead and put new upper and lower a arms with all joints in them. And inner and outer tie rod ends on the front. Its cheap maintenance since you will already have the parts all right there and putting new things on.

Tie rod ends, ball joints, sway bar end links.

Didn't have time to get everything installed yesterday and frankly had a heck of a time getting the spacers in so I am putting of sway bars and ball joints until another day.

I think I need to invest in some air tools. I ended up making 3 trips to buy tools because I either broke them or they just weren't big enough....

The coil spring compressors that advance loans you are pretty much junk so I fought with those. All in all it was a fun day - worked pretty much nonstop from 10 am to 7 pm....

With that said I got 2" outta the front so I sit 21.5" from center of rim to bottom of fender both front and back...

The leveling is definitely a PITA to install, glad you finally got it done.

And these guys love to say it, so...
