I rebuilt mine myself last summer. If you do just make sure to MARK THE ALIGNMENT so the shaft stays balanced and doesn't vibrate. As for the pressed aspect, you can put the joint in a vise or anything that will hold it and just use a hammer and chisel to press it yourself. It might not look as pretty but it is 100% as effective.
i just replaced the whole shaft on mine now i get vibration some times at 90-100km like the truck shakes but no vibration in the steering wheel. i asked my uncle if i had to mark it and he said no as it was a brand new shaft. any ideas?

An out-of-balance shaft won't cause a shake. It will cause a vibration more like a low-frequency hum. If you feel something shaking, but not in the steering wheel, you may have a wheel that's out of balance, especially on the rear.
Idk, all I knew is that I was surprised they replaced my cv as it was shattered that was due to heat and stress. Obviously its from the lack of grease, I don't Think I added enough. I added much more grease to the joint. Also, its easie to maneuver the rubber boot onto the driveshaft if you apply grease to the shaft.
Could also be a pinion bearing, which was my problem. Dodge replaced the whole front differential. Before you rebuild the drive shaft, check with O'Reillys, Kragen, etc.. I bought a new front shaft for my IFS Chevy for 1/3 of the cost of rebuilding.
yah mine rumbled at what seemed to be 3rd and 4th gear untill untill I iether gunned it or slowed down. once the new drive shaft was in it was gone wierd.
