Default From a clunk to a clink

I've had the clunk for a while, knew it was the sway bar end link on the left side. Well, it changed to a clink, the top broke off.
Luckily I picked up a pair right here in the DF classifieds a long time ago off of a former Dakota owner. Nice and quiet again!

I broke mine on the bottom end once. the second time they started clunking, I removed the (anti) sway bar. Not too bad, and defo better off road. I plan to compensate the lost stability by widening the track 6" with a long travel set up. Are those better quality links?

They're definitely better than the OEM links. 'Premium Quality' and 'Enhanced Version' are some of the words to describe these end links (Description here). Moog makes a grease-able version too.

What's under the little rubber boot? I suspect a ball joint of some sort.

Yep, ball joint (ball stud). Click on the link in the third post above for a detailed description.
