Default squeaky leaf spring

today i noticed a squeaking coming from under the bed of my truck i went under there to find the driverside leaf spring is squeaking. does anyone know what i can do to remidy this problem without going to the dealership? and do you think this could be related to the leveling the front(i "turned" the tortion bars).

thanks

Default RE: squeaky leaf spring

Not sure of the cause, but I can suggest one way to eliminate the squeak. Amsoil makes a product called Heavy Duty Metal Protector, which I think will cost you less than $7.00. It comes in a spray can. I use it for undercoating my vehicles, lubing the chain on my motorcycle. Basically anything that you want to protect and keep from rusting. It sprays on a little thicker than WD40, but leaves a film similar to marine grade wax. It has built in rust inhibitors and will penentrate through rust and seal it. It will actually condition rubber and plastic helping them last longer as well. I have sprayed it between the leap springs of all my vehicles with great results. One Can will probably undercoat two vehicles. I only use it when needed, usually whenever I rotate the tires, thus giving me the greatest access. I even spray the threads of the wheel mounting bolts.
