I ordered the Rancho units and have been very happy with them. Still a little float while towing but under normal driving, feels firm and controlled. WAY better than the stock units ever felt.

FYI - It appears there was something changed on the 2010 Dakotas with regard to front strut design. Looking at the spec's from Monroe, the 2010/2011 struts are about .3" shorter than the 2005-2009. However the part number for the spring itself remained the same. Monroe also shows the same part number for strut mounts from 2006-2011. Maybe the valving is improved to help control ride a little better on the 2010 and 2011. Might be possible to use the 2010 strut for your 2008.

I have the Ranchos all around which are better than stock but still pretty stiff, meaning I can feel all highway cracks and bumps. But maybe my bald front tires have a little influence on the ride quality too...
