Default biggest tire for stock 05 dakota?

Time to replace tires, 2 of them are dry rotted so might as well replace all.

I have same tires on there then when i bought it back in 08 (still has tread to) they are P245/70R16. My door saysp245/70r16 but im wondering if i can go any bigger? I have stock suspension and dont want to worry about tires rubbing at all but would like a little more "Trucky" tires then the ones i have right now. I have the SLT package if it makes a difference. Tires confuse the crap out of me.

Would going from p245 70R16 to p26570r16 make a noticable difference in size or even bring the truck up a bit? Truck seems low to the ground compared to other dakotas i see out there

Thanks for any help!

Go with 265/70/16, biggest size without any issues. You will notice the difference.

The SLT package would have come with 265/70R16's. The previous owner or dealer probably replaced with 245's to save a few bucks on tire cost. Go with 265's, it will also look better as they will fill up more wheelwell space.

I went from 245/70-16 to 265/70-16 I like the look. I have had no issues. my only concern is I bought some off-brand called EVENT T/A so far I am happy with them though. they only cost me $370.00 for all four. I hope they last me 40,000 miles.

This. It was a factory option size. It will be a 30.6 inch tire compared to 29.5. So your speedo will say 60 mph but you will be doing 62.2 actual mph.
