Default Hood alignment 2008 dakota

Just noticed the gaps on my hood are not the same as they used to be. The driver side is 1/4" bigger from the top of the fender then the passenger side. I only noticed because a friend of mine asked if my hood was open, which it wasn't. Is this a fixable problem without taking it into a body shop?
Thanks

As long as you have some friends who can hold the hood in place when it's opened. You'll need to loosen the bolts on the hood brackets and let the hood shift to where it's centered. It may take you a bunch of times to get it just right, loosening and tightening and seeing how it lines up. I've never had to do this, but it seems doable. Get some beer beforehand for your friends.

Good Luck and Welcome aboard.

If it's the height of the hood, there are little bumpers inside that change the height of the closed hood. Someone may have untwisted one of them pulling it out further, making the hood stay up on that side. They just turn like a bolt to go in and out. Check those before trying to align the hood by taking it off.
