Ok, so I only have one extended fender on. I was pushing the truck a bit, and I got the tire into the old fender on the side I have not swapped out yet. Kind of proud of this. The tire obviously pushed into the fender substantially to create this carnage. It is 7.5" of travel before contact with the fender, so must have gone up 8" or so. It's got at least 5" of droop to compliment that. I was hitting some dirt roads pretty fast. I really need to address the rear now. Seriously holding the truck back. Good to know that the extended fenders are not just for show in this case.

Glamour shot with a little tire shine. Couldn't help it.

Turns out you can still get stuck quite easily with 34" swampers. Locker for the rear and winch on wish list.

Mud and more carnage to the the original fender. Finally swapped it out.

Truck is awesomer now. The uniballs are a bit tight and affect steering return to center (don't care). LTBs are very hard on gas mileage and make sixth gear useles in hilly wv. (Don't care; regear coming) These are my notes. I now have a squeak free, serviceable front end that does not bounce off the ground, and plush performance off road. Truck looks good too. Not like a truck with useless lift. Looks like it could come from the factory this way.

Ok, so if you did throw on 1" spacers and 35"x12.5"xwhatever would you loose any travel? Or are you just running 34"s so it looks rite and tucks in?

Youll actually gain a little bit of travel using wheel spacers. Because the tire will be that much further from the pivot point.

I disagree. The spacer pushes the wheel out horizontally from the spindle, as opposed to following the up or down angle of the control arms. Theoretically this would keep the wheel in the same travel range.

I would not lose travel. Yes, these 34s allow the wheel to tuck because they are 10.50s, but I think 35s would look and be more appropriate. I am considering q78s as they are only slightly wider, but over 35" tall. I would like my tires to tuck, but I could trim the fender upward and not be too disappointed. I like the stuffed look, though.

Amazed by the bite these tires have, as a side note. I was recently able to climb out of a hollow I had no business driving down into. Snow was up to the middle of the bumper. took 2 tries to find the right gear. 3rd gear low range at 5,000 rpms ate my way out.

another update: i have broken the ears off of the spherical bearings within two of the "indestructable" ballistic fab joints. using them as upper and lower ball joints. they have replaced them free without much fuss, but i think the bore hole for the ball joint bolt is too big and does not leave enough material where the ear meets the ball. oh well. other than that these things rock. adjustable and greasable.
