How's it going everyone? I have a 2006 Dakota with 4.7 V8 and low compression in cyl 3 but with random misfires. Been told I have to replace stretched timing chain and all valves. Does this sound accurate?

Welcome to DF. Moving to the correct section. Just an fyi, not a good idea to use your email as a username. Unless you like spam.

Being that you have multiple random misfires, and cyl #3, I would say it is possible that a stretched chain, or failed tensioners could result in the multiple random misfires. However, Cyl #3 is accute and specific. Vavles, spark plug, fuel injector, and/or coil.
