Default Rattling noise

getting a rattle noise on driver side. Seem like it is in the door or around the front pillar. Only at highway speeds. Sounds like a rock bouncing around in something.

Any ideas?

Thanks

What area of the country (or world) are you in? if you are up where it's cold and full of snow and ice (like me) there could be a piece of ice buildup on some wire that at highway speeds gets enough vibration to make you hear it.

At least, that's what cause my strange rattles up where i am. And a host of other cold and snow related issues.

It's a 2007 4 door 4x4

I do live in Alberta Canada where it is cold and snowy. But has been warm since I've had it. Only had the truck for about a week.

look at my thread for Replacing the side mirrors, the beginning of it is removing the door panel. I have pics with the screw locations highlighted. Should help you remove the door panel if you are going to take it off to check.

could be a loose nut somewhere. Just go slowly if you are not sure what you are doing and take pictures so you can refer back to where things went. As for the a-pillar, the screws are the ones by the handle, not hard to see those, just carefully take off the covers on the screws then take off the screw. harder to put back in as you have to find the right place to put the screw back on and make sure you are not pinching any wires.

Default Thanks

thank for the info guys

Iv had the passenger side door panel off when I had fixed my power window issue. ( motor and switch were not plugged in) and when I had that panel off I noticed the tabs that slide into the sheet metal to hold it were broken and the pieces at the bottem of the door. Will check driver side to see if it is the same. Or a rock
