Tire and rim question
Hello all...I've been searching for an answer and I think experienced Dakota owners can give me a clear answer. I looked through the stickies and all but it didn't address the question I have.
Will 275/60/20 fit my 2005 Dakota without any problems?
Also could I put a 265/50/20 on the rim that uses a 275/60/20?

A 275/60/20 tire will not fit on your Dakota. I'm guessing you picked up some Ram wheels with tires. You can fit a 265/50/20 tire on stock suspension, and it will fit that wheel no problem, assuming it's a 20" x 9" wheel. A 285/50/20 tire would fit if you had a leveling kit installed, but would require some minor trimming.
What is the wheel offset?

Try this site, put in OEM size on left then desired size on right. it will show and tell you the differences.

I'd like to thank each of you for the input and direction.
Dakotaff you are correct... They are stock ram wheels and tires...chrome clad alloy. I Believe it's a 9" wheel.. Only because it fits the description and photo images of everything I've seen about this stock ram wheel. I measured the width of the rim with the tire on it..(not sure how accurate that is) but it seems to be at least slightly larger than 9".. I hooked the tape on the outside edge of the rim edge(in between the spokes)... and from end to end i read 10". However I'm not certain if this is truly accurate. If the correct way to measure is from where the bead connects on the inside of the rim... Most likely they are 9"(assuming there is a half inch difference on each side of the rim from the outer edge to the inside where the bead connects.)
And just so I'm clear about these rims... As long as it's truly a 20"x9" rim, I can use a 265/50/20 or a 265/45/20 tire without needing any mods... Ie: lift/leveling or trimming?
The offset of the stock ram wheel is 19.05 according to the product descriptions I've seen for this particular wheel.
Also I want to thank Jkeaton and Dragon05.... The links you've provided were very helpful and educational as well. And it's a pleasure to be amongst dakota enthusiasts with real world experiences and solutions. Thank u all very much.
