Default another trailer wiring discussion

I know it is said that you cant get a plug and play wiring harness for 7 way unless you have the factory tow package. But I just bought and installed the curt 4 and 7 way connector #57674. No trailer brake or power wire connected for now.

I then ran across this site for the factory harness #82209045AB which says it is plug and play.

Is the OEM actually plug and play for an 05 Dakota?

looks to be plug and play based on what i can see here. but plugging is a vague term here. looks like it's plug, secure and play. Appears to have a set of wires going all the way to the fuse box to plug in from there that you have to secure to the frame all the way to the back to get to the 7 way for the power wire. It looks like it connects to the 4 way already there for the lights. Trailer brake would still need to be wired to a brake controller, sold separately of course.

My 05 (with to package) looks to be a plug and play harness at the rear, however it also has a port on the lower driver side dash for a brake controller and came with the harness to wire to one. You might not get that with the kit.
