Reset PCM
too reset the pcm. disconnect the neg battery termanill, for 20 minutes. this will clear pcm. reconnect termanill, and start and stop truck 3 times. on the third time leave the truck running. let the computer learn the new peramiters that are being sent to it for about 5 minutes than take truck for a ride. should be all set. every time you put a different mod on the motor .intake, chip, injectors it is a good idea to reset pcm. if not it will take about 300 miles to learn the new peramiters
It this method work with a 2005 dakota? Is not, can you tell me the way to reset the PCM on my Dakota.

Welcome to the forum Master.icpr
I'll move your thread into the 3rd Gen forum.
There really isn't any way to reset the PCM on the 2nd Gen anyways. You disconnect the battery and turn the key to run.

I recently bought a 2005 Dakota SLT model and the security system does not work. I was looking for some company related but the only thing they wanted was to sell an alarm system, an employee of one of those stores told me that my Dakota was basic and had been brought from Canada and so I decided to find the information of the VIN number and that information tells me that my truck is made in USA and is supposed to have a security system installed. The dealer gave me the keyfob and I put new battery but I have to open the truck with the key. I would like to put to work the factory security system in my truck because it works like new except the security system.

Could it be that the MODULE, RECEIVER Immobilizer was damaged ?
When I followed the step to program the fob the engine light blinking when I pressing the button to unlock and panic button

I'm confused by this. you have to have working FOBs before you can do the programming procedure... do you have a working remote that will unlock the door?

I'll try to explain myself. A security systems technician explained to me that the remote works and sends a signal but the light of the security system does not turn on and I open the door with the key, so I do not know if the system or the keyless are installed on the truck as indicated in the list of features that appears when I enter the VIN number. Honestly I am not a person with economic resources and so I try to repair by my self the keyless or the factory security system (if any). I went to several companies related to alarm systems for cars and the only thing they want is to sell me their products. The only thing I want to know is if my truck has a keyless or the factory security system installed and if it was disconnected or whatever. Just try to find a solution.
