Default 2005 Dakota 2dr Club Cab 131" WB SLT Transmission question.

Hi,
A mechanic informed me it was a good idea for me to install
a transmission oil cooler to my truck because these trucks
have problems with the temperature of the transmission and break into pieces.
Is that true or not?

Any transmission will have issues if it overheats. Depending what you do, where you are from and how you drive you might need a transmission cooler. If you have the tow package, then there is a cooler that brings fluid from the transmission to the rad to get cooled. Adding another cooler would not hurt.

For an auxiliary transmission cooler, any generic installation video will work. It is all about figuring out which pipe is in and which is out, taping into them and piping to the cooler.

Search this forum for specifics, that's what we would have to do to give you a link anyhow.
