Default ECU Relearn?

I am replacing the accelerator pedal and the electric throttle body on my 08 4.7l dakota and according to the service manual you need to preform a ECU relearn but I do not have access to a dealer scanner to do this. Does anyone know if there is another way to preform this without going to a dealer and using the computer?

Wonder if that is the same as a reset? If so you can do that yourself.

I'd start with disconnecting the battery for a bit, then starting it up and see what happens.

I'm not to sure what the difference between a relearn and a reset is. Do you have the reset procedure maybe I will try that and see what happens? I'm replace both things with OEM parts. So I can't see there being much of a problem or needing to be relearned. I'm just worried about the truck accelerating randomly without my input and becoming unsafe to dive because I replace it and didn't preform the relearn like it says too.

The are referring to a PCM reset. Disconnect your battery for a while, turn the key for 30 seconds while the battery is disconnected too. Then hook it back up. Done.

There will be minor variations between the voltage feedback signals, at wide open and closed, of the new parts and the old parts. They're usually not enough to matter, but they CAN be different. I remember there being a way to manually relearn the ETC. It should be in the owner's manual...I think...(I don't read them either lol)

I apologize for confusing everyone but I reread the service manual yesterday and it does call for an ETC relearn not an ECU. That being said I still didn't find anything in the manual on how to preform this other than with a computer. Now that I have the correct term maybe someone knows of a Manual ETC relearn that doesn't require a dealer to preform.

I am not 100% sure but you can reset tps by turning key on to run position. Do not start slowly depress pedal all the way to floor slowly release wait a few seconds and you should hear a chime or two turn off ignition . Then try to start

The new throttle body and the accelerator pedal should be coming in the mail today. So I'm gonna install them this weekend and I'll get back to you with the results. Really hope this solves the problem.
