Default should i buy this dakota

I'm looking at a 2005 dakota with a 4.7L engine and auto trans with 2 wheel drive. the body is in fairly decent shape and so is the underside. whaat concerns me is the radiator support might need replaced and the 4.7L magnum engine has almost 250,000 miles on it. i can get it for somewhere between 2,000 and 3,000 dollars. what do you all think? thank you!!!

Too much for that mileage and 2wd. Extended or quad? What trim package? What else needs attention? Front suspension, brakes, tires, etc. how much do you have to fix things?

If you are not familiar with these trucks,, pay particular attention to the front end. Struts, sway bar end links, ball joints, tie rods. Engine and transmissions are pretty stout if properly maintained and the engine has never been overheated.

stay away. i have had two engines on my 2005 magnum **** the bed. the frist was when i bought it from a guy he added must have been 5 litres of stop leak to the the oil. the rings wer shot, the bearings were shot. put in a newer engine and it has a knocking sound on startup. i know a guy who has had the same truck as me and he finally got rid of it at just over 220000km because of the problems with it. now don't get me wrong not all these engines ,may have the same problem. to me 250000miles on a gas engine is too much.

Yeah, that's high mileage. But as was said above, durability of this drivetrain is really good when properly maintained.

Luck of the draw.
