Default 2005 Dakota 2wd 3.7l Trans Pan rusted

Hello, I'm new the forum and was wondering if someone could tell me what type of transmission I have. I was able to loacte a sticker with a UPC code on it. The number is TPKTK0555E0255 under that is P52850697AA there is also a big 697 typed on the tag. I think its a 4speed overdrive. But not sure as it shifts so often you loose track. Thanks -Ed

Click on the FSM link below in my signature. There's a link in there for getting your build sheet, which will tell you which transmission that came on your truck, as well as everything else that came on it.

Welcome aboard.

The 2005 Dakota 3.7L in automatic uses the 42RLE 4-speed with lockup torque converter.

The part number P52850697AA appears to be the number for the entire transmission assembly via a Google search, but it doesn't actually show up anywhere in the official 2005 parts list.

The transmission pan part number should be 52852912AB.
It's available on the interwebs.
