Ok, so I have been looking into a performance programming for the Dakota's twin brother, the Mitsubishi Raider. I'm running everything that the Dakota does (3.7 V6 with a 4 auto) so I figured y'all would know best. Is a professional programmer done by Hypertech ($350) better than a custom tune done by a dyno shop ($375), or are they essentially the same? The only other performance mod done to it is exhaust, with the resonator deleted and a straight through Magnaflow muffler.

The Hypertech is the only programmer for the 3.7L engines. Stay away from any kind of "chip" (Jet) or in-line resistor for the IAT sensor. Honestly, your bolt-on mods will help out a lot with engine power/torque: Cold air intake, exhaust, electric radiator fan. Above and beyond that, change your gear ratio.
