Default Truck part unknown.

hello, I found this unit under the dash of my truck and disconnected, I have no idea what it is or where it goes. Thanks for your help.

Where was it exactly? Looks like an actuator of some sort. Try out all your HVAC controls and see if everything functions correctly. Was it laying on the floor or what?

And your profile says you have a Dodge Ram. Is it for a Ram or a Dakota?

It was under the dash pluged to the wires but disconnected, behind the pastic panel under the steering columm

Seeing as it appears pretty solid in nature for whatever operation it does (possibly safety-related), I'm going to guess that it may be a column-shifter interlock.

Are you able to move the shifter out of park without pressing the brake?

or the steering lock that keeps the steering wheel from turning when the key is in the off position.
