Default Steering or suspension issue

Within the past couple of weeks I've noticed that a noise from the front driver's side when turning the wheel sharply to the right. I first noticed it backing out of my driveway and again in a parking space. It sounds like kind of like a grind and pop and I can feel in the steering wheel. I looked under the wheel well but I didn't see anything broken or loose. Again, it is only when its sharply turned to the right and backing up. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Probably a CV joint. Check around the boot for tears or grease leakage.
The grind, pop, or banging when turning is a symptom.

That was one of the things that popped in my head (no pun intended) I will check that out. Thanks dakotaff!
