Default Performance problems

Hey guys. Just wondering if anyone has had any engine performance issues when accelerating due to a bad fuel pump when operating the truck in hot weather. I suspected my fuel pump may be bad because I am having this problem but I'm looking for anyone else that has had a similar problem.

What kind of performance issues? Need to be a bit more specific.

Hesitation when accelerating. Feels like there is no power no matter how far you push the pedal. Normally last 30-40 seconds between 2,000 and 3,000 RPM. Occurs more in hot weather or atleast it seems that way.

I just posted a day or so ago (in my thread about an exhaust leak) that I've been having a hesitation under acceleration too, and coincidentally its only when its really hot outside. It came out of nowhere last week and had never done anything like that before. Odd

seems like the truck may need a good douching of fluids and a spark plug change. do you have any idea when the last plug change was and what type of plugs?

Had the exhausted replaced and that didn't fix it. And I replaced all the plugs and wires a few months ago with bosh and still acts the same. So I suspect either a bad fuel pump that is giving low flow or I a fuel line is starting to collapse.

reset your computer, remove the negative battery terminal for 20 minutes, this will wipe the ecm clean, after reconnecting the terminal, start and stop truck 3 times, on the 3rd time leave running for about 5 minutes so it will relearn the air fuel mix, then take it for a ride, but don't baby it, beat it. it may just need a simple recal.

I tried the reset procedure and still no luck. Unfortunately this has been an on going issue with my truck for over a year. Just seems to get a lot worse with the warmer weather. I may just have to give up on and wait till it fully breaks or take it to the dealer. Just would hate to pay the prices for them to tell me that they can't find anything wrong.

do you know where your iat sensor is? is so change it out. I had an issue where the truck ran like crap only to realize the sensor fell out of the groumet and was sitting on the intake. it may be faulty and not giving the computer correct air readings

Changed out the IAT sensor the other day and I also gave the whole engine a good cleaning and still no luck with the problem. My next step might be a compression check. Still getting no check engine light telling me what's wrong so I guess I just need to keep playing the game and see if I stumble across the problem.
