Of Dakota lost power suddenly
I have a 08 Dakota with a 3.7 I was going to replace an old trailer plug on the back and the wires are all dead so I started checking fuses and relays.when that was done the ignition was dead ( it was running fine before I checked the fuses) I tried jumping the starter and it acts like the fuel pump isn't working. ..everything else horn lights...is working when the key is turned the lights on the dash run the Initial test sequence like normal. ...anybody have any idea what happened?
I checked every fuse and relay in the box and all are good then I left it with the battery unhooked. ..tomorrow will see if that helps. I'm wondering if the computer can cause this and still have power to everything else?
"It acts like the fuel pump isn't working"
Can you hear the pump running? If not, is there power to it, power to the relay? If all fuses are good, time to get out the meter and test light.
If there is nothing coming from the ignition switch, the ASD and FUEL PUMP RELAYS won't turn on, hence no fuel, no spark.

will the engine crank? depending if the truck came with 2 fobs check to see if the other key works. you may have shorted out something and the truck went into security mode and shut down. check to see if there is a little red light in dash when you try and start truck.
