Default Battery Splice

Hello,

My battery cable on the terminal ends are short. I need to add an extension to make both positive and negative cables longer.

Can I splice the cables with butt connector specifically for battery cable? If not any ideas best way to add cable extension.

What gauge is factory cable?

2010 Dakota v6 3.7

Thanks

Agree with the above. Don't want to intentionally create future failure points using butt splices.
