Default 2009 Dakota Wheel Specs

Hey all. Soon to be the owner of a 2009 Dodge Dakota. Already started looking for some aftermarket wheels. I believe the stock alloy wheels are 16x8 with a 5x5.5 bolt pattern. My question is, will backspacing be an issue? Thank you!

I'm hoping to install a set of these: https://www.summitracing.com/parts/u...7855/overview/

Thanks, but most of those setups are very different from what I'm looking to do.

I would love to upgrade to 265/75R16s, but I don't know if this would work with an 8" rim. Probably better sticking with the stock 265/70R16s. The real question is, will the 4.5" backspacing be an issue? My understanding is that a 4.5" backspacing will create an offset of 0, which will cause problems. I know the stock 16x8" wheels have a 5.5" backspacing. Wheels are one thing I could never really wrap my head around. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Worst case scenario, I'll probably buy a set of stock 16x7" steelies and powder coat them black.

the 265/75R16 will work on an 8" wide wheel. a 265 might be too wide for a 7 inch rim. Donkeypunch ran that size on the 16x7 inch steel wheels for a while, so he might be chime in eventually and tell you his experience on that size.

as for the backspacing question, it should fit but you might have some rubbing and some trimming to do based on moving the tire further out from the hub then the stock tire. especially on turning while braking.
