Default PSA: Don't neglect your tie rod ends

I have done both tie rod ends in the last 5k miles (just rolled 150k not too long ago). The first one broke on me and tried to strand me...

Luckily I had Gorilla tape and motivation. This repair lasted 3 days and almost 100 miles until I could get it apart and replaced, and the mechanic said it took him 20 minutes to get it apart and that it probably would have lasted quite a while longer, LOL....

Thats some resourceful rigging, but a risk I wouldn't have taken. I would have called the tow truck.

You might want to consider greasing the front end components! It's bone dry!

That OE stuff isn't greasable. They save a lot of money in grease fittings at the factory. I'm going to have a look at mine next week, but I think most having these front end issues are in a salt environment.
