2006 Dodge Dakota 4.7 45RFE Trans stops pulling when it gets hot
I have a 2006 Dodge Dakota 4.7 with the 45rfe Transmission a few weeks ago I had started noticing problems with the Transmission going into limp mode and the check engine light coming on but once i reset the code everything started working fine. Three days ago it just stopped and i had trans fluid pouring out. So i got to looking around and found that the radiator busted internally and i had antifreeze in the transmission so i replaced the radiator and changed the trans fluid and filters. Once i got it all put back together it seemed to be fine, or so i thought. When the trans got hot it just stopped pulling all together but when it cools down it works fine. Please help i really don't want to have to buy an new trans
I'm gonna try changing the fluids and filters again maybe still has some contamination in the trans. gonna add some transmission treatment when I fill it this time hopefully it fixes the issue .

Either it's still contaminated, or the damage has been done. I did a search and read a couple threads on other forums - different vehicles that had the same radiator failure. Both ended with a transmission replacement.
I hope you see coolant in that oil and another change does the trick though.
