Default Mystery Coolant Leak

Hey yall,

I noticed a small puddle of coolant under my Dak the other day and I'm having a hard time locating the source. It looks like its coming down the front of the block which makes me think water pump. Any thoughts on this? Is that a common leak for anyone else? I hate changing water pumps!

Also is there any aftermarket brand I should stay away from? My local dodge dealership is not very responsive from the parts department... And I'm in Hawaii so there is only one...

Water pump on these trucks is about an hour job. Not hard at all. If you think the pump is leaking, go ahead and replace it.

There is a blind spot when the WP leak wraps around the crank pulley and goes down. It will throw you off a bit. Do the thermostat while it's apart. You can reach it easily from the top. I typically do the tensioner pulley assembly as well. They tend to start getting noisy after you disturb an old one.

Thanks for the tip, I might as well knock that out too. This truck is used and the old owner didn't seem to do much preventative maintenance.
