33 x 11.50 x R17 on 2006 dodge Dakota
Hi. I would like to run 33x 11.50 x R17 tires on my 2006 slt Dakota quad cab. What size lift do I need to run the tires ? also will the stock 17 by 9. Aluminum alloy rims work or do I need to get something different?
But to answer your question, you "can" fit 285/70/17s with a leveling kit and heavy trimming. On my Dak, I stuffed 305/70/16s on (33x12.50x16). I had to chop for clearance. I did 285/75/16s on the factory steel 16x7 wheels. I eventually had gone to 16x8.5 with a -6mm offset. I still rubbed the insides of the frame with the 305s at full lock. But if you run 285s with a 4.5" backspacing, you will be fine.

This handy little thread right here will tell you all you need to know.

You are talking about a roughly 292/70/17 tire which means 1.5-2" coil spring spacers plus a 3" body lift. and some trimming of body panels and fender well liners.
