2010 Dodge Dakota SXT 4.7 Liter
I was driving along pulling my utility trailer when I pulled into a business and parked the truck. I went to start it and it shut down right away. It never did that before. So I started it up again and it wouldn't stay started. I heard a noise like a clanging sound coming from the left side of the engine. I thought maybe it had something to do with the valve train. I got a tow truck and had it taken to my mechanic. He phones me later on and asked me if it had boiled over. I said no it hadn't nor did the temperature gauge move. No steam was seen coming from the engine compartment. Anyway, he tells me the engine is seized and that I need a new one. The engine has 240,000 kilometers on it or about 183,000 miles. Has anyone ever heard of such a thing.
Did anyone out there ever have such a problem and what might have caused it.
