Default Transmission Pan/deep Filter

https://www.amsoil.com/shop/by-produ...?code=58843-EA
This is the filter its meant for a deep pan.

https://www.yourcovers.com/transpan_11044.php
Here is the pan it holds 1.5 quarts more.

I have a 09 Dakota 3.7l. My question is do i need to go with a deep transmission filter.
And yes there is a a deep well trans pan that will fit my truck. I call the manufacturer.

If you have a deep well trans pan, then you will need the correct filter for it.

What manufacturer did you call?

Get your build sheet and see what transmission pan came on the truck. I don't think a larger pan was offered as an option.

Default Look above link provided to site

Look above to the first link and it will send you directly to the manufacturer. It's a custom machined aluminum pan for around $200.

Right on the Yourcovers . com website, it says:

Filter Info
The interior of the pan as a filter support. Use a stock filter with this pan. No filter extension is needed.

Use OEM transmission filters, not aftermarket brands.

If it's any help Dorman makes a 42RLE tranny pan(#265-818) with a convenient drain plug and LubeLocker makes a reusable gasket(#LLT-A042) for it that is a direct bolt on for the Dakota.Makes tranny servicing a breeze imho.
