Kill door chime by cutting wire to chime
#2
most door switches are grounded when closed to shut off the chime. if you cut the wire on this type of setup...the circuit will be permanently open...ie door open, chime on. you need to grd the wire not cut it.
the ajar switch sense for your truck is part on the latch...violet wire.
this disable procedure may work:
The following steps must occur within the first 60 seconds of the ignition switch being turned to the ON position (perform the steps again for reactivation):
1. With the ignition switch in the OFF position, buckle the driver's seatbelt. NOTE: Steps 2, 3, and 4 must be completed within 60 seconds of turning the ignition switch to the ON position. 2. Turn ignition switch to the ON position, and wait for the Seat Belt Reminder Light to turn off.
3. Unbuckle and then re-buckle the driver's seatbelt at least three times, ending with the seatbelt buckled. NOTE: Watch for the Seat Belt Reminder light to turn on while unbuckling and off while rebuckling the seatbelt.
4. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position. A single chime will sound to signify that you have successfully completed the programing. In exclusion mode (SBR deactivated) the telltale works like before but the acoustic portion of the SBR alert is disabled (chime is muted). The IC receives SBR_STS signal to determine if: - SBR is activated; OR - SBR is in exclusion mode (SBR deactivated). This command acts for the seatbelts of the driver and front passenger. Note: Warning Seat Belt Alert can be reactivated by the following "Deactivation/Activation"
