I went out to start my Durango and nothing. Replaced the starter, the ignition module and noting. The red security light comes on flashed and then stays on. Also, i can see the miles, but the gear selector is gone. I can't even pop the back tail gate with the switch up front overhead.
Its like the truck thinks it is in gear even though it's in park, but you don't see the selector, just the mileage. Could this be a key code issue. I've ready to blow the truck up. Any help would be appreciated.

 

if you have a fob, please remove the battery from it. something is not communicating with the ignition, also if you have a second key try that.

 

OK, I removed the battery and it still won't crank. I only have one key for this vehicle. Would that explain why my code scanner won't connect and why the gear selector is missing, just the mileage? I checked all the fuses and none were blown. Do you think I should have another chip key made?
