Vibration
I have a 2006 Dakota four wheel drive 3.7 engine automatic. it happened about one year ago and them last weel. The truck started vibrating about 60 mph and then even when I hit the brakes it seemed like the rotors were warped. the vibration could be felt though out the whole truck. I went into the doctors office and came out and went down the same highway and it was ok, no vibrsaion at all and has been ok ever since, The brakes are new and are very smooth when I hit them, Help, Thanks, JIM
I had the same problem. It shook like hell. But I had new pads and rotors put in the front. No difference.
My parking brake doesnt work. When it’s pushed in it doesn’t keep the truck from moving. Mechanic said it was stuck on my drums and it warped the drums. He re rounded the drums and it’s still there, but not anywhere near as bad.

check the front drive shaft, a lot of times the boot gets a tear and the bearings rust and blow apart causing the shaft to bounce around

There are a few possibilities to look at:
- a rusted sticky parking brake linkage in the drum assembly. Common.
- a leaky wheel cylinder (rear brake piston)
- driveshaft u-joint going bad
- tire balancing, possible wheel threw a weight
- worn shocks
Checking through each of those, process of elimination or correction, will get you sorted. In the same case of my son's truck, the issue was the rear shocks were pretty well done. No damping. One wheel was also slightly out of balance. So down the highway any little bump or tar line setup small shudders and resonant vibrations. Fixed it by installing Rancho RS5000 all way round. Smooth like a magic carpet ride since.
Hope that helps!
