Anyone have an opinion or facts on which of the two is a better system. Everything I read says that they are about the same. If anyone has a real world comparison I would like to hear about it. I know this has been posted before, but it has been a while and I wanted to see if anyone has any new info.

It's a little premature for me, but I bought the air raid system, but I haven't put it in. There is a link https://dodgeforum.com/m_297746/tm.htm where you can get the air raid system for $210 (this included S/H) where the K&N is closer to $300. Seems to me that you get more bang for the buck with air raid.

I'm puting mine in on Friday.

Let me get this straight:

Adding a washable filter to my stock intake will slightly improve my HP and gas mileage, right?
Adding a CAI (which includes one of those washable filter) will improve my HP and gas mileage even more than the filter alone, is that correct?

Will I feel the power increase, or just hear it? I've seen alot of folks say that you'll get 2-3 more MPG, if so everyone should get one right?

 

From what I've heard, you'll feel a big difference. I'll know tomorrow though. When I get the time to do it that is. You're suppose to get 2-3mpg. That's a whole lot better than what the drop in filter will do for you. I didn't even notice a change in power when I bought the drop in. I had heard both sides to that, but I found that there was not much of anything all the way around.

 

Ok, I added the Air Raid system. Seems to be good so far. I think that with my truck being an AWD, the acceleration is not as much as I thought it would be. There is some difference though. I noticed I don't have to give it a lot of gas to get it going. As long as I don't punch it, I won't hear the loud throttling.

I like it. I also just added a new Chrome gas door. That also looks good.

I took it to Olympia and back (Vancouver) and it averaged about 17.2 at 75mph. I went 195 miles and had 1/2 a tank. I'm not sure what an increase that is.

 

Is it known how either does for filtration compared to a conventional paper filter?

 

I went ahead and ordered the K&N. I know I am just paying for a name but a buddy of mine was able to get me one pretty cheap. I will report back next week once it is installed.
