Take it with a grain of salt. All of my experience with seats has been with bucket seats in the front. I'm not sure if the bench seat has a different shape of cushion. Also strange that your truck doesn't have tilt steering, I thought it would be standard on the dakotas since I have never seen one without it. if you want to double check, a handy tool for finding your options is this link.

Tilt steering is not standard,my truck doesn't have it either.
